#1 Concrete Poem about Frogs

Frogs hop up hop down, hop left hop right, they slish and slosh through the mush they might. When the time comes, they eat and eat. When the time comes, they breed and breed.

#2 Acrostic poem about dogs

Diggers

Over-hyped

Great pet

#3 Sonnet about a Fish

The Dejected Little Fish

In the depths of the terrifying sea

Where a little fish cries and cries within,

unlike others who swim with glee.

It’s journey, different and will begin.

The little fishy swam and saw a glob

The pink little glob, around it would float.

In the depths of the dark sea as a blob-

fish, floating, floating, floating like a boat.

The sad little fish, kindness it would find

In fishes playing with it,it would hope.

So the sad little fishy learned to cope.

In the depths of the big welcoming sea

Lives a happy little fish which is free

#4 Couplet about Kiwi the fruit and Kiwis the animals

They are round, fluffy, cute, and have short necks,

They are sweet, red, yellow, green, and don’t peck.

#5 Limerick about owls

There once was a wolf-raised owl,

who knew how to growl and howl.

All the animals would say “as if i cared”

when the owl tried to make them scared.

So the owl could only scowl.

#6 Acrostic poem about pygmy hippos

Please help us out!

You’ll help us right?

Going extinct is not fun,

Might I ask for

Your help?

Hippos create trenches in wetlands

In the trenches

Preys will hide from

Predators like waterbirds and otters

Oh they also bring nutrients to the water and land

So help protect them from going extinct.

#7 Haiku about rabbits

Two front teeth nibbles

Two long upright animal ears

Nature Poetry Collection

Flowers

Two friends run around the flower patch plucking chrysanthemums, laughing as butterflies land on their matching leis.

Cheers and tears of happinessas hats are thrown high into the air. Certificates in one hand, bouquet of sunflowers in the other.

Dull sky and mist,Raindrops splashing on gravestones,Muffled cries as people grieve, with tear soaked handkerchiefs and white lilys grasped in their hands.

Cards scattered across a table,Needles and tubes attached,As a hand reaches outTo the bouquet of peonies And the Hope You Feel Better card.

Yellow street lights light up the cornersOf a quiet, narrow alleywayRevealing his blushing face. as he walks towards her. From behind, he pulls out a bouquet of red roses.

Trees

Trees light up with joy

as its lively residents

dance and prance.

Nature’s disco ball

covered with fruits and leaves.

Bunches of sticks,

Softly placed.

precious eggs are laid.

Leaves waltz

as they fall,

to the bird’s song of farewell

The whistle of the breeze

replaces the chirping birds.

A silhouette of a child

Sits by the empty nest

Staring into the empty horizon.

The first specs of snow

land on a bare branch,

While their siblings float

through the chilly air.

Snow builds up on the weak branches

Until they can no longer hold the weight.

They snap, but no one can hear it

Even without the whistling birds

Without the laughing children.

The first streaks of light

Bring hope with them

Smoke stops from chimneys

And doors creak open

Far away

Kids are chuckling

Around the old tree

That has felt the summer breeze

Sighed in the autumn winds

lived through the lonely winter

And seen hope in the first streaks of spring light.

My First Sleepover

My first sleepover

With my best friend forever

We played and built tons

Chairs

Chairs in the dining room,

Chairs by the broom.

Little itty-bitty chairs

And chairs shaped like pears.

Even chairs that can go zoom.

Preparing for Global Issues Conference

Speeches and slides,

Heaving and sighs.

We zone in and out

Trying to finish

Before the time flies

Research and research

Thousands of searches

Chitters and chatters

Flicking through tabs

One with a picture of a church

Dazing and dozing

Wish we were posing

For the camera

After the big speech

But instead we’re decomposing.

The Life of a Crocheter

Wake up in the morning,

Put on your crochet slippers,

Drink a cup of coffee,

And place it on your crochet coaster

The coaster that you made

With little crochet hearts

Now is time for work

Boring old work

“I want to take a break” you say

And pull out your hook

And put on your glasses

And you start to make:

Plushies and hats

Pillows and mats

Now you are done

and bed time has come

You put on your crochet PJs

And sleep with your crochet teddy.

“Good night!” you say

To your crochet toys

And pull on the crochet covers.
