The Famous Unicorn

“La La La!”  Unicorn sang into the microphone with her pink and purple hair.  The sun was shining, pink and yellow flowers were blooming outside the window. But suddenly, her sidekick Pip The Penguin gave her an envelope. It had gold lacing, and it said To Ms.Violet. She opened it, and it said: “You are invited to a singing competition.” Unicorn  was amazed,  she was galloping  all around the room and screaming like crazy, “OH MY GOSH! THIS IS AMAZING!!! I'm gonna practice right now,” she paused. “Wait, what will I sing?” she asked Pip The Penguin. “Let’s go ask the fans,” suggested Pip. “That's a good idea!” said Unicorn. They went online  with her pink and purple sparkly computer. She posted,  “Dear fans, I need help with lyrics for a song. I will choose which ones I like the most for a singing  competition.” One fan posted: “Neigh-neigh-neigh, la-la-la,” and another fan posted “Na-na-na.” But none of them were right, so she went outside to get  inspiration. She saw flowers, trees, and pebbles, and poof! She had an idea! She went backstage and wrote  her song, but she didn't know her enemy, the Horse had a plan. He said something bad about Violet. He posted online, “HER VOICE ISN'T REAL!  SHE'S  PLAYING A RECORD!!!” When fans saw this, everyone gasped.  As soon as Pip The Penguin saw it, he raced to tell Violet about it. “Hey, Unicorn! I have some bad news!” He opened the laptop to show her.  “WHAT?!” Violet screamed. “The horse is gonna sabotage your performance!” exclaimed Pip. “Wait!  You mean the horse who poured sprinkles  on my back?” questioned Unicorn. “Ha! I forgot about that. Well, yes.” Pip remembered. “Oh! I hate that guy. He's sooooooooo MEAN! I never ever played a record!” shouted Unicorn so loud that  Pip plugged his ears. Violet was so angry, upset, and tired that she decided to go to the coffee shop to rest.  As soon as she walked in, she saw THE HORSE!!!  Violet was so surprised, she wanted to scream! But Violet  was brave, so she took a breath and went inside. Violet stomped her feet into the floor. She grabbed the chair tight and sat down in front of the horse. “Hey, Horse! I heard what you said about me. This is not kind and not true! I always sing into the microphone by myself. So, I’d like to say that instead of going against each other, we can work as a team! So we both can sing during the competition WITHOUT the record.” At first, the Horse did not like the suggestion, so he said that he needed to think about it for a day. Violet agreed: “Okay, but only for a day!” Then the Horse left, and Unicorn, feeling a little bit better, got herself an iced vanilla latte to go. 

     The next day, Violet and the Horse met at the park to see what the Horse was going to say.  Unicorn eagerly asked, “So, what is your answer gonna be?” The Horse said, “My answer is… We should work together! I am sorry for pouring sprinkles on your back because I know it did not make you feel great. I just got jealous because of your beautiful singing. I wish my singing were like yours!” Unicorn sighed. “Well, maybe I can teach you”, said Violet. They went to the dance studio to write their song together. The competition was coming up in two days. The Unicorn was so scared that she fainted. “It’s ok, we can think of something”, said the Horse.” “But we only have two days!” cried Violet. “I have an idea”, said the Horse. “Don’t you have a  perfect backyard at your house?” asked the Horse. “Oh, yeah!”. They took Violet's car to drive home.

     When they got to Violet's house, they went straight to her backyard and right when they took a  step, they both had an idea and they wrote and wrote and practiced over and over. Before they knew it, it was the day of the competition. Horse and Unicorn put on their  fancy  sparkly costumes,  and while they did their stage makeup, they kept practicing the song. Suddenly, they heard the speaker saying, “The next up is Violet The Unicorn and Horse The Horse! “It’s show time," said Horse. They got on stage,  and the moment they've all been waiting for was right there!  After they did their finale, everyone was happy and so excited.  “We have known each other since we were seven! Why were we never friends?!” asked Violet, and they decided to become friends.
